At MyDepreciation ("we", "us", "our"), we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our website (mydepreciation.org).
Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect non-personal information about how you access and use the website, such as your browser type, device type, and pages visited.
Calculator Data: All calculations run entirely in your browser, on your own device. We do not have a server that receives, processes, or stores the numbers you type into a calculator (asset cost, dates, salvage value, etc.). We never see this data.
Saved Calculations: If you click "Save calculation" on a result, the inputs and result are written to your browser's local storage (localStorage) only — nothing is sent to us. Saved calculations stay on your device until you delete them individually, use "Clear All" in the saved calculations panel, or clear your browser's site data.
Product Usage Events: We send a small set of anonymous, low-detail events to Google Analytics when you use certain features — for example, that a calculation was run, a comparison was viewed, a result was exported, or a calculation was saved. These events only ever include which type of calculator page you were on, which depreciation method was selected, and true/false feature flags. They never include the asset cost, dates, salvage value, or any other text or number you typed into a form.
Email Results: The "Email" button on a result is currently a demo interface only. The email address you type is not sent anywhere, stored, or logged — it only exists in your browser while the dialog is open.
We use the information described above to provide and maintain our Service, improve user experience, and monitor usage trends.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies, or use a browser extension to block Google Analytics specifically.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to monitor and analyze use of our Service. Adsview checks whether Google advertising may load, using the page path, referring site, a visit identifier, and basic browser automation signals. Calculator inputs, form contents, and calculation results are not sent to Adsview. Google may use cookies and process data when advertising loads. Learn more about how Google uses data and Adsview.
Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's own policies, which we do not control. Saved calculations live only in your browser's local storage and remain there until you delete them or clear your browser data — we have no server-side copy to retain or delete, because calculator data is never sent to us.
